PROBLEM
In line with our sustainability commitments, we recognized the need to comprehensively analyze not only our operational emissions but also the carbon footprint of our financed assets. Collecting this complex data through traditional methods and reporting it in accordance with international standards such as PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) was a highly challenging process. The scattered nature of financial data, its correlation with emissions data, and the need for transparent management were among the biggest obstacles preventing us from performing accurate carbon accounting. This situation increased our compliance risks with regulatory requirements and limited our efforts to develop sustainable financial products and provide reliable information to our investors.
SOLUTION
We began working with Carbon Gate, a partner that understands the unique dynamics of the insurance sector and develops tailored solutions accordingly. The Carbon Gate platform allowed us to seamlessly integrate the emissions data of the projects and companies we finance. Thanks to the platform’s PCAF-specific integration, we can accurately calculate and report the financed emissions in our portfolio.
